GD Electrical Overview

GD Electrical Services Ltd was founded in Minehead, Somerset, in 1993 as an electrical contractor. The Micro-generation Certification Scheme recognised their diversification into installing solar photovoltaic panels in September 2010. (MCS).

To better represent the services they could provide, GD Electrical began trading under the moniker GD Electrical & Solar. Now that they have been in business for 20 years, GD Electrical can provide an even broader range of services to both new and existing clients. GD Electrical & Solar is a group of trained, competent, and courteous employees that take pleasure in providing high-quality service with a personal touch.

Services Offered By GD Electrical

GD Electrical provides its players with services that include electrical work for renewable energy sources.

Residential Solar PV

Solar Photovoltaics, or Solar PV, is a technology that converts sunlight into electricity. Solar PV harnesses the sun’s energy to generate electricity in electrical appliances and lights. Solar PV systems create electricity from solar radiation rather than direct sunlight, and thus they can produce energy even on overcast days but at a lower rate.

  • Surveys and Quotations
  • Feed-In Tariff
  • Water Heating Control

Commercial Solar PV

Solar PV is a tried-and-true technology with a plethora of commercial applications. Big commercial names like BMW/Mini, Sainsbury’s, Ikea, Toyota, and Bentley, to mention a few, are already reaping these benefits. Solar panels have been shown to perform up to 95% effectively after 20 years and have a life lifetime of 30 to 40 years. As a result, even if Feed-in Tariff payments stop, you’ll still save money on your energy bills.

Biomass

Biomass systems heat a single room or power central heating and hot water boilers by burning wood pellets, chips, or logs. A boiler connects to a central heating and hot water system and burns logs, pellets, or chips. Compared to electric heating, a wood-fired boiler might save you approximately £600 per year.

Wood fuel is a cost-effective heating source: while the price of wood fuel varies, it is frequently less expensive than other heating sources. Biomass is a low-carbon choice since the carbon dioxide generated when the wood is burned the same quantity is absorbed by the plant throughout months and years of growth.

As long as fresh plants grow instead of those consumed for fuel, the process will be sustainable. There are some carbon emissions associated with the cultivation, production, and transportation of the fuel. Still, they are far fewer than those associated with fossil fuels if the fuel is supplied locally.

Renewable Heat Incentive

The Renewable Heat Incentive (RHI) compensates you for producing and using renewable energy to heat your structures. The RHI assists the UK in decreasing greenhouse gas emissions and meeting objectives for lessening the consequences of climate change by boosting the generation of heat from renewable energy sources (rather than fossil fuels).

Heat Pumps

Heat is absorbed from the outside air via air source heat pumps. This heat may then be utilized in your house to heat radiators, underfloor heating, warm air convectors, and hot water. In the same way a refrigerator pulls heat from its inside, an air source heat pump extracts heat from the outside air. Even when the temperature is as low as -15° C, it may get heat from the air. Heat pumps have an environmental effect since they require power to operate, yet the heat they take from the earth, air, or water is continually replenished naturally.

Unlike gas and oil boilers, heat pumps supply heat at lower temperatures for longer periods. During the winter, they may need to be turned on all the time to keep your house warm. You’ll also find that your radiators aren’t as hot to the touch as when you use a gas or oil boiler.

  • Air-to-Water System. Your wet central heating system distributes heat using an air-to-water mechanism. Heat pumps are far more efficient than traditional boiler systems at lower temperatures. As a result, they’re better suited to underfloor heating or bigger radiators that provide heat at lower temperatures for longer periods.
  • Air-to-Air System. Warm air is produced by an air-to-air system and circulated by fans to heat your house. They’re also not likely to give you hot water.

GD Electrical Reviews

Learn about the amazing job G D Electrical has done for their clients in this section.

Just had a 5Kva Solar Edge system installed after a recommendation from a friend who has used and recommended, this company before. From initial consultation, to completion, faultless, any promises made were kept and if anything improved on!! Having got used to “modern” high pressure sales, discounts on the day etc, way of doing business, a return to old fashioned values, where someone explains what your options are and gives alternatives, with benefits of each, has got to be good. Now the system is running, on an E/W facing roof, averaging 3+Kva in all this glorious weather.

So far any promises on output have been well exceeded. I had concerns initially as we have a new roof and I was fearful of any disruption, needn’t have worried, competent and well executed with no mess on site afterwards. Takes a lot to register compliments in this day and age as we expect it, but this company has made promises it keeps and has delivered everything it forecast, they deserve to do well in this field. – Paul Betty
