Clouds House Overview

Clouds House is located in the heart of rural Wiltshire. It is a listed building beautiful country home in the village of East Knoyle, designed by architect Philip Webb.

Clouds House was founded in 1983 and has been helping clients with controlled drugs and alcohol addiction, and co-occurring mental health disorders. They base their programme on the 12-step programme and use modern, up-to-date research.

Clouds House is regulated by Care Quality Commission (CQC) and registered with the National Drug Treatment Monitoring System (NDTMS). The CQC rates Clouds House ‘good’ in all five inspection domains.

They treat all forms of addiction, including alcohol, drugs (prescribed and non-prescribed), gambling, gaming, sex and love (including pornography), and some food-related disorders. They adhere to NICE and Department of Health guidelines concerning substance misuse treatment.

In the opinion of Clouds House, the community is essential to healing, so they urge their clients to participate in activities and outings there.

Their interpersonal group therapy style offers a rich and secure atmosphere where patients can learn important lessons about their connections with themselves, other people, and the drugs or behaviours that are the source of their addiction.

At Clouds House, they provide residential treatment for privately paid clients, those with private insurance, and sometimes those who are recipients of state funding. They also raise bursary funds to help people who cannot obtain financing from any other source.

Relapse Prevention

When treatment is completed, one of the counsellors, nursing staff or senior staff will have formulated recommendations for continuing care. They provide aftercare weekly on Wednesdays at Clouds House and Tuesdays in central London.
