Therapy For You Overview

Therapy For You offers face-to-face, psycho-educational or group courses and individual 1-1 treatments, with sessions in person or over the phone, with Psychological Wellbeing Practitioners, Counsellors and Cognitive Behavioural Therapists. They have also developed a series of innovative online psycho-educational courses.

Therapy For You is a free NHS service providing a range of talking therapies for anyone who may be facing mental health problems. The service is available throughout the Colchester, Tendring, Southend, Castle Point and Rochford areas, delivered as part of the programme by the Department of Health’s Improving Access to Psychological Therapies (IAPT).

Online Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) Courses

Bereavement

  • Course Length: 3 sessions, 44 minutes course length

  • Course Length: 5 sessions, 37 minutes course length
  • If you are suffering from Low/depression, Lacking confidence, Stress

Understanding Self-Esteem

  • Course Length: 5 sessions, 82 minutes course length

Managing Stress in Parenthood

  • Course Length: 4 sessions, 65 minutes course length

One-to-One Individual 

Therapy For You can discuss your feelings, mood, negative thoughts, experiences and symptoms while working towards feeling better together.

Group Therapy

These sessions help you learn and talk about your feelings in a confidential and private setting with people who may feel similar. A qualified therapist will lead each session to help you better understand your problem and offer ways to help you control and overcome it.

Phone Therapy

Individuals with busy family lives, mobility issues, or other barriers to getting out can ask for help via phone therapy. Calls are arranged between you and an expert therapist so you can receive the help you need at your convenient time and place.

Video Calls

If you cannot make it for regular therapy in person, Therapy For You can set up online video calls between you and a therapist. During the sessions, you’ll be able to talk about the issues that are bringing distress to you and that make you uncomfortable. You’ll learn new ways to help you overcome problems and help you to start feeling better.

Online Therapy

Come upon one-to-one therapy in the form of secure online chat sessions. Talk with a qualified therapist using a phone, tablet or other devices, wherever you feel comfortable. It uses CBT, a practical approach to treating many problems.

Jane was my therapist for 12 weeks. The best/worse 12 of my life. I never thought I’d be able to smile ever again; I thought my time was up.
