Betel Rehab is a nationwide rehabilitation centre. They have centres in Birmingham, Derby, Hexham, Manchester, Motherwell and Nottingham. They were founded in Madrid, Spain in 1985. Betel UK is a part of an international company called Betel International which has rehabilitation centres around the world.

There is a Christian Ethos to the rehabilitation practices at Betel and unlike other rehabilitation centres, there are no medical professionals as they quote themselves they are not a medical facility or clinic.

Betel promotes itself as a lifestyle rehab with a Christian ethos that all residents are expected to get involved in.

Services Provided By Betel Rehab

As mentioned above Bethel Rehab is not a medical or clinical rehab, so they do not provide medical services. However, they are a lifestyle rehabilitation which means they improve the lives of their residents. The way that they do this is through promoting Christianity.

Because Betel Rehab does not provide any medical or clinical services, all drugs (including those to help drug addictions) are prohibited in the rehabilitation and they recommend you get clean before you enter the service.

All residents at the facility are expected to follow the daily routine which is from 7 am till 11 pm. For the first two weeks, the resident will get used to their surroundings for two weeks.

After this, they will be assigned a work team this is to give the residents responsibility which includes:

  • Flyer Distribution
  • Furniture Collection and Delivery
  • Charity Shops Sales
  • Furniture Restoration
  • Landscape Gardening
  • Household Duties such as Cleaning and Cooking.

During their stay, residents will be expected to take on more responsibility and they will learn vital skills such as willingness, dependability and a supportive attitude towards others. They will be given chores and learn how to do household chores, run businesses and lead teams. These will allow residents to build on life skills that will help them once they leave Betel Rehab.

Please note, one of the rules is only Christianity can be practised in the rehabilitation and no other religions can be practised. This could be negative for those who believe and practice in other faiths.
